These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) cover your use of the website accessed through https://northfengrooming.co.uk (the "Website") and any appointments or dog grooms you have booked with NorthFen Grooming.
Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully. By using the Website or booking an appointment for dog grooming, you acknowledge that you accept the Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not use the Website or book an appointment for dog grooming.
The Website is owned and operated by us, NorthFen Grooming. Our operating address is NorthFen Grooming, North Fen, Little Downham, CB6 2UG.
All copyright, other intellectual property and all other material used on the Website are either owned by us or are included with the permission of the owner of the rights. The copying of either the Website or material contained on the Website for any purpose is not permitted without our prior written consent. Including a link to the Website or displaying the contents of the Website in any way (including but not limited third party websites not owned by NorthFen Grooming, Social Media, posters, adverts etc.) is not permitted without our prior written consent.
These Terms and Conditions do not grant you any license to use any trade mark whether registered or unregistered to NorthFen Grooming.
NorthFen Grooming requires a minimum of 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling appointments. Failure to provide 48 hours notice may result in a charge of 50% of the full cost of your groom. If less than 24 hours notice is given or a client doesn’t turn up for their appointment at all then 100% of the total cost of the groom may be charged. Any repeating “no shows” or late notice cancellations may be required to prepay for the appointment at the time of booking.
NorthFen Grooming runs by appointments only. If you are over 15 minutes late to your appointment your groom may be rescheduled and you may still be charged for your appointment.
NorthFen Grooming accepts payment by cash or card. Payment is to be made either on drop off or collection.
NorthFen Grooming reserve the right to take a deposit upon booking an appointment at our discretion. Any deposit taken will be deducted from the groom on the day. This deposit is only refundable if at least 48 hours notice is given for cancellation. If less than 48 hours notice is given our Cancellation Policy will apply.
NorthFen Grooming has the right to refuse any dog found with fleas upon greeting. If we find fleas during the groom we may continue to complete the groom at our discretion however a £10 additional charge may apply for the time and cost of disinfecting the parlour.
Grooming pregnant bitches can be incredibly dangerous to both mother and puppies which is why NorthFen Grooming is unable to groom any pregnant bitches and until the puppies have been completely weaned off the mother.
All of NorthFen Grooming’s services adhere to the Animal Welfare Act 2006, which states that it is an offence to cause animals pain or discomfort. Therefore we reserve the right to refuse anything that may detrimental to your dogs health.
It is the owner’s responsibility and duty of care to maintain their dog’s coat between grooming sessions. If the owner has failed to maintain their dog’s coat condition and as a result matting has occurred, we may attempt de-matt the coat only if we think it will not cause the dog stress or discomfort and only if this will take no longer than 15 minutes. Any severe matting will need to be clipped short in order to remove the matting and prevent unnecessary suffering. Shaving a matted coat is gentler and kinder for the dog. Many dogs can be traumatised by unnecessary hours of de-matting, putting them off grooming for life. Therefore we consider shaving an act of kindness. All severely matted dogs requiring a “shave off” will need to sign a declaration form before any work can be completed.
NorthFen Grooming has the right to charge a matting fee of £10 if a groom takes more than 15 minutes extra due to matting/knots. The matting fee is also added to “shave offs” (where either all or majority of the coat is shaved short due to severe matting - see Dematting Policy above). This is due to the time it takes to safely remove matting and for the wear and tear this causes to our scissors/blades.
At NorthFen Grooming we offer a range of different packages. Depending on what package your dog is booked in for will change what your dog can expect on the day of their groom. Below we have listed what is included with each Standard Package that we offer in addition to our Extra Services. If you require any of our Extra Services in addition to what is included in your package please inform us prior to the groom.

7) Hand Stripping using either fingers or stripping knife to completely remove the "old" coat and help promote successful regrowth

3) Blow dry and thorough brush and comb out to remove all the dead hair whilst strengthening the hair shaft and promoting new hair growth.

Ear Plucking is not a service that is required for every breed. In fact, whilst it is common for many dog breeds to have internal ear hair it is more commonly found in small fluffy breeds. If the hair is left to grow uncontrollably this can lead to an increased chance of infection. As such, we offer a plucking service to keep the ear hair in check. Please let us know on the day of your groom if you require this service. If you are unsure whether you need this service please check with us. Please note that not all dogs are comfortable with Ear Plucking and as such we may not be able to offer this for all dogs. We will make you aware if this is the case when you ask us about this service.
When clipping nails they can often be left with sharp edges. These are typically ground down after a few days from daily exercise however we offer a Nail Grinding service whereby we use an electric file to speed up the process. This service takes considerably longer than Nail Clipping and as such will result in an additional charge. Please discuss this with us prior to your groom as prices may vary depending on the thickness of your dogs nails.
NorthFen Grooming aims to provide the best care and results when grooming all dogs. Where a customer feels that the groom does not meet their expectations we offer a 24 hour correction policy. Under this policy we will modify any minor part of a groom at the owner’s request free of charge providing we are informed of the issue within 24 hours of the groom being carried out. We will also only offer this service providing:
A) the correction does not contradict instructions given by the owner prior to the groom being carried out
B) the correction is for a service that we offer as standard for the groom package that was booked (see 10. What Is Included In Your Groom)
C) the correction is for an extra service that was requested in addition to a standard groom package at the time of booking (see 10. What Is Included In Your Groom).
Any corrections needed after this timeframe may result in a fee.
