At NorthFen Grooming our Full Groom is the most comprehensive treatment we provide. This package includes:

1. Basic health, skin and coat examination
2. Preliminary rinse followed by shampooed bath
3. Conditioner as required
4. Full blow dry followed by a brush and comb through
5. Nail clip
6. Ear clean 
7. Body clip to length requested by customer
8. Hand scissor as required to finish
9. Spritz of perfume

Puppy Introductions are one of the most important services we offer. The majority of dog breeds will require grooming throughout their entire life, which is why it’s vital puppies are introduced to this process from a young age to ensure they grow to accept this as part of their life. We recommend bringing your puppy in for a Puppy Introduction as soon as your puppy has had their vaccinations, as the younger they are the quicker they will get used to it which will be beneficial to their longterm grooming experience.

The ideal timeframe for Puppy Introductions is to come in every 4 weeks for until they are mentally ready and their coats are in need of a full groom. This typically depends on the puppy’s coat condition, but usually takes place at about 6 months old. 

Puppy Introductions include: 

1. Basic health, skin and coat examination
2. Preliminary rinse followed by a shampooed bath using our sensitive shampoo
3. Conditioner as required
4. Blow dry 
5. Thorough brush and comb through 
6. Nail clip
7. Ear clean
8. Face, bum/hygiene and feet trim
9. Spritz of perfume  

Please note the Puppy Introductions will include as much or a little as your pup will happily tolerate. Every pup develops at different stages, we don’t want to frighten them, but let them know that dryers, water and clippers are nothing to be afraid of. It is important we take our time with your puppy and allow them to accept the grooming process in their own time. 

Many breeds do not require the complexities  of a Full Groom, whilst others use this service as an “in between groom” to keep their dog smelling fresh or to maintain their dog’s coat whilst they’re not quite ready for a Full Groom. As such we offer our basic Bath and Brush Out service. This comprises of:

1. Basic health, skin and coat examination
2. Preliminary rinse followed by a shampooed bath. We currently offer a range of shampoos varying from deep clean, to ultra sensitive or even a de-shedding shampoo depending on your dogs needs. 
3. Conditioner as required
4. Full blow dry
5. Thorough brush and comb through to get to the bottom of the coat ensuring any knots and all dead coat is removed.
6. Nail clip
7. Face and bum/hygiene trim 
8. Spritz of perfume

Our hand stripping services are available to course haired breeds only - namely terriers. If you have a new dog and are unsure as to whether your dog requires hand stripping we can happily arrange a coat assessment to determine the suitability of this service. 

We endeavour to make sure that this is a gentle process that results in the complete removal of "old" coat and helps to promote successful regrowth. 

If your breed requires a hand strip please have a chat with us to determine how often you should be having this service. 

Our De-Shedding package is a popular service for those pesky heavy moulters! Almost all breeds moult either twice a year or continuously throughout the year, which if left untouched can result in endless hours of hoovering and can actually be uncomfortable for your dog. 

As such, our De-shedding package includes:

1. Basic health, skin and coat examination
2. Preliminary rinse followed by a shampooed bath using our de-shedding shampoo (specially designed to reduce moulting). 
3. Blow dry and thorough brush and comb out to remove all the dead hair whilst strengthening the hair shaft and promoting new hair growth.
4. Nail clip
5. Ear clean
6. Spritz of perfume 

Why should having your dogs nails clipped be a stressful experience? We believe that with gentle handling and reassurance most dogs can not only tolerate but possibly even enjoy a nail clip. 

During this treatment we will check the condition of your dogs nails, remove any embedded grass seeds and of course, provide the vital trim!

Nail trims come as standard with all our packages however we are also happy to offer this service by itself. 

Just like humans, some dogs require a regular ear clean. At NorthFen Grooming we use a specialist ear cleaner coupled with a gentle touch to ensure your dogs ear hygiene is kept up to scratch.

Ear Plucking is not a service that is required for every breed. In fact, whist it is common for many dog breeds to have internal ear hair it is more commonly found in small fluffy breeds. If the hair is left to grow uncontrollably this can lead to an increased chance of infection. As such, we offer a plucking service to keep your dog’s ear hair in check.
